Here is a dish of the finished olive schiacciate. They have been in their marinade of olive oil, orange and lemon peel and herbs for a week now and they taste very good. From Chris Stewart's latest book, I got the idea of adding harissa to the mixture [not Sicilian but it is available here].

Love blending harissa with olives.. it makes it so spicey like the green sicilian olives i love so much! However.. I think kalamata olives our my favorites! Thanks again! ~M

So do I, Steve. I once loved a man who didn't like olives. That should have been a warning sign!
Now this definitely looks fantastic, and all you have to do is eat it, dunk some bread in the oil, and enjoy!
