At my request, the Altro Posto prepared one of my favourite dishes, scaloppine di vitello ai funghi [veal escalopes with mushrooms] today. In Britain veal is very expensive and there is an issue about whether it is right to eat it but in Italy it is popular and not costly.

Looks delecious. I like veal on occasion.
Veal is also expensive and controversial here.
Hubby just bought us about a hundred pounds of frozen, grass-fed, free-range beef. He says it's more humane and more nutritious than grain-fed beef, but it also turns out our cow was a young one, so I guess it's all veal, too!
Looks delicious. I though I had made a comment yesterday, but guess it didn't take.
And it always tasts so much nicer when someone else cooks it!
