SCACCE AND STARGAZING

"Come round tonight to eat scacce and look for shooting stars", said a friend who rang yesterday morning [for you can still make a wish if you see a shooting star on 11th or 12th August]. I did not need much persuasion, reader, for Linda makes delicious scacce [focacce] and has a lovely garden in which to tarry.

Above: tomato focacce Below: ricotta focacce

Below: me, stargazing.

I saw one!! And made a wish...how great that your friend invited you around.

I don't suppose there were many Brits out last night, not quite there thing, ha ha.

People never talk around here, let alone ask you to "visit" ..can you imagine it....NO!!

If you tell what you wish for, does it come true ?
After reading your previous post I can't help feeling a wee bit envious of your life in Sicily.
I'm definitely on the look out for a shooting star!

Thanks for the reminder -- as soon as I read this I ran outside and sat for a good 20 minutes, along with my husband, making wishes that I hope will come true! With any luck, we'll be doing a lot of traveling soon!

Many thanks, jmb. I agree, Mopsa! It was, Sally. Well done, Anne. I saw one here tonight, WW! Me, too, Lucia. I must do it more often! I don't know, Trubes. I hope so! I think we all envy other people's lives from time to time but nobody's life is perfect. Hi, Rowena. Happy travels! Thanks, Cherie. Don't give up yet - the night is young!

Nice looking focacce. Never knew it would be still considered focacce if it were stuffed with tomato or ricotta. Is this the same a calazone? Or different?

You look nice wishing upon a star!

Late to the party as ever - well, my loss! Sounds wonderful: food, friends, venue, occasion ... Did you see any shooting stars? May all your wishes come true anyway!
