What a feast at Maria and Luca's today! I'll just let you enjoy the pictures:
There was squid salad [which I had to pass on, as I can't eat fish]:
There was squid salad [which I had to pass on, as I can't eat fish]:
Maria had made pane condito - [bread seasoned with oil and herbs] served with fresh cheese inside:
She had also made a tomato pizza
and an onion one:
Then there was chicken, cooked by Linda. I asked her what she had put in the delicious stuffing: "Oh, everything, including marmalade", said she. I will try to get more details, reader!
Next, a 16 kg anguria was brought to the table:
There was much jolly discussion about the best way to cut it
and then it was divided:
There was also sweet Trapani melon:
After that, there was watermelon gel
and finally, torta di gelato:
Grazie, Maria e Luca!

Yes, I pass on the squid and other creepy crawlies or squidgy swimmies like that.
Another wonderful spread :-)
Gorgeous grub, Welshcakes! Sounds like a wonderful evening. Yesterday la fete brought free music to the Prom' & a 25-minute firework display (Italian organisers!). Aren't these festivals great?
How do you stay so slim, Welshcakes? Sounds like you had a nice day!
It was, Constance. Hi, James. I like that - "squidgy swimmies". Indeed it was, Cherie. Hi, Phidelm. Yes, I love these festivals! With difficulty, Saretta! Yes, a lovely day.
What a feast! The torta di gelato looks particularly good!
It was, WW, but by then I was too full to have a second slice!

Quite so, jmb.
