WHAT IN SICILY? - 23

Not one, but two, quizzes for you tonight: We haven't had a "What in Sicily?" since May so who can tell me what this object would be used for? [This is a small version.]

"Proverbs" quiz coming up later.

Something to do with olives?

It's obviously a tray.

A boat?

Ok,so I know I'm wrong. Martin, long-suffering husband suggests that it's a chopping board, that things can't fall off, or alternatively, an upside down beehive.

I still think it's a tray. If it's not, it could be. I'm a sore loser.

Is it used to dry tomato paste?

My guess is a tray for drying melon seeds or for leaving offerings to the mafia

hmmm, tomatoes come to mind for some reason.

Well, that's original, pink! Soon, soon, Saretta! Good guess, Cherie, but no. Mary, I can see this has really got to you! I'm about to post the answer in a new post. Not a tray, Anne, though I agree with you and Mary that it could be used as one. Shall we sail away in one, James?! Hello, Marymary. I know the kind of trays you are thinking of, but they are shallower. Good ideas, WW! Not tomatoes, Lucia. Right, new post coming in about 5 mins....
