SUMMER IS A-COMIN IN...

... and bringing with it these tiny, succulent peaches. You will notice that they are not all perfectly formed and unblemished as they would be in a British supermarket and they taste all the better for that.

We have a peach tree in the garden and its fruit comes in all shapes and sizes - and is wonderful. AS long as we get to it before the wasps do!

Sadly though, it is looking rather sorry for itself. Husband has pruned it right back to try to encourage it back to life so we shall see.

No pesticides then?

I used to have a peach tree in my garden too and the first year it produced more than 100 juicy fruits. I'm afraid it has since been demolished by a football and two little boys!

That's often the way - the perfect fruits have been 'constructed' and are often blander.

They look real...not plastic clones!

I hope hubby manages to rescue it, Liz. I wouldn't bet on no pesticides being used, Ellee, but they do taste good! Hi, James - "constructed", that's the word! Hi, Lee. That's what I thought!
