No, not me after a few gin and tonics but the name of this cheese - ubriaco sul pavé - because it is flavoured with wine. On June 2nd I'll have been in Sicily two years but I still delight in finding new food items.

What is Sicilian/Italian cheese like? I've never visited. I love French and Swiss cheese but not at all keen on Spanish.
I'm sure it would take more than a few slices to get a little high going. Funny name.
Now THAT makes me feel hungry.
Dinner time, I think.
I had an over dose on cheese while in the alps over the weekend... just thinking about it now makes me feel a little sick.... :-)
never tried that particular cheese I wonder if it's regional, my fav is pecorino and of course I put parmigiano shavings everywhere.
What is your fav italian food?
Ubriaco, my favourite Italian word. Lovely name for a cheese.
I commented at length on the post about the Italian men and their women of the heart and bed but it didn't get through obviously. Too bad, evil blogger again.

Now Welshcakes, this is just plain unfair to the rest of us! How can I get hold of some such? The closest I can get here is Tiramisu.
Hi, Liz. Well, Italian cheese in general has not had the mass marketing that French varieties have but we have all sorts here: hard, soft, flavoured and seasoned. All are excellent. Many are unknown outside Italy and even outside their own locality. You must come over and try some! Steve, yes, I think you'd have to work hard to get drunk on it! Buon appetito a bit late, Crushed. Sorry, Sally! Hi, begonia. I think it's local. My favourite cheese is Pecorino, too. My favourite Ital food, apart from the ice creams and granite, is veal scaloppine.
jmb, yes, the name cheered me up. I definitely didn't get your comment on the "woman of the bed" post - I have double-checked. Sorry. Blogger yet again, no doubt.
Sorry, James!
Gosh, you learn something new every day. And which wine would you have with this cheese?
Ciao, Ellee. Well, I wouldn't because I'm not a wine drinker. But if I were serving it to guests I would offer an Etna red.
I thought you were referring to me there for a while, Welsh! ;)
I was a little merry on the phone last night. A friend I've known since he was born, forty-two years ago, this October...Gavin John...I've mentioned him in my latest epic...well Gavin rang and we talked for over five hours! lol He was sipping on bourbon on his end, so I decided to join him and had a few Coruba rums and Scheppes Lemon/Lime! We hung at 1.05am! I'm never picking up the phone again! lol (Until next time!)
Hi, Lee. I have phone calls like that, too ! [Well, I did when I was in the UK!] Like you, I think "never again" - but I do!
