Not that, Anne, but an imaginative guess. Trubes, Cherie, Betty, Rowena: I see what you mean but not for candles. Good guess, Ellee, but no.

ANSWER: It is part of a traditional, decorated Sicilian cart. This sort of ironwork was found over the axle.
