... for an espresso at breakfast time in the heat: a granita di caffè. By the way, M of Laughter, Loving and Living was asking about a lemon granita recipe: M, if you can get hold of a copy of Floyd on Italy, there is one in there. You will also find one in Ursula Ferrigno's Italian Cakes and Desserts.

I craved milky coffee for breakfast while in corsica.....and tea even more !!
if there wasn't permeating drizzle and a gale here, I'd be tempted
Now that looks a lot more inviting than cornflakes, though Sally's comment makes me wonder if a tea granita might be a good start to a hot day.
I am going to make some;on the next sunny day. Whenever that might be.
looks tasty, and cool... it is 34C here and going up on the morrow...
I swear the Sicilians would make granita out of anything. Granita di pomodoro, anyone? Actually I think that might be OK on second thoughts.

We need the real thing here at the moment. It's too chilly for the chilly stuff...although I am warming myself up at present with a glass or four of red wine! ;)
Too much temptation yet again.
Hi, Sally. I don't have milk in coffee or tea sp it doesn't worry me. WW, I've just seen the bad weather again on Sky. Hope it gets better for you soon. UPM, that's an idea! I might try to make an Earl Grey granita! MM< is the weather bad in Ireland too? Lady M, we have been at 32 today. At least there's a breeze! Jmb, it probably would be and you have given me an idea as well! Cincin, Lee! Sorry to tempt your lordship!
Thank you for that... It looks delicious.. now I hope I find the book! I'll let you know.

Let me know, M. If not, I'll try and find a recipe elsewhere for you. x
