The weather here in Modica today is, quite simply, beautiful. It is warmer outside the apartment than in it, the sun is shining and in Britain this would pass for a day of high summer. The women have mostly changed into autumn garb but today you could walk around in a sundress. We may not get golden, falling autumn leaves here - or not many of them - but we get days like this one to gladden our hearts.

It's lovely here today too, lots of falling golden leaves and a lovely bright sun, with a hint of dampness in the air. It won't be too long before we have our coal fires lit.
