PAZIENZA, PAZIENZA...

UPDATE: 24.8.07: The plumber / electrician has just left: €70 for an hour's work - some things are the same everywhere! But at least everything is fixed.
Yesterday I found water had got into one of the washing machine drawers, the sink in the utility room had become blocked [I think I have managed to rectify that with bicarbonate of soda and boiling water] a light fitting broke, and the handle of the flush on the loo came off in my hand. Can you believe all that, in one day? Now the lamp in one of the balcony lights needs changing and it's too high up for me to reach. No way am I playing with a stepladder on a balcony! So this particular feminist, James, if you're reading, could do with a man [one who's a a bit practical - "a man who does" as a Cardiff friend of mine puts it] around right now. The plumber/electrician couldn't come yesterday but promised to ring today. I am telling myself it is only 5.30 pm and he will work till 8 or 9 pm. Pazienza....

Can't help Welshcakes.

I believe in keeping plumbers employed.
If it means getting my hands dirty, I reach for my wallet.

Plumbers do a most vital job - pipes are always in unreachable positions.

So sorry, WL, would send Pete around if we lived nearby. That's not much help to you now so hope you get the right help soon.

BTW Have you seen Liz's post - Not for the sensitive about Steve G - you need to remove his link from your blog pronto!

So do I, Crushed but if there were 2 people here, at least one could hold a ladder on the balcony! Aren't they just, Liz? Thanks for the empathy, Sally - I appreciate it and I hope your situation gets sorted tomorrow, too. Shirl, thank you. Done. And thanks for the empathy re plumbing, etc., too. Auguri a tutti xxxx

Being divorced for several years, I'm still holding out hope of meeting Mr. Right someday. However, I recently had a blind date with a nice looking man who doesn't read, doesn't travel and said "I can't fix a thing around the house." Hire the plumber and be glad everything broke at once and there will only be one house call!

Surely there is some hunky Italian there just waiting to change your light bulb for you, Welsh! ;) I'd say give Patrizio a call, but he's mine! ;) Hehehehehe!

I'd gladly rush over there now. Read the latest post this morning, Welsh.

As I waited for the roofing men last night (horrific leaks during the last lot of monsoon-like rain) I thought of you dear Welsh; these little nightmares never seem to come singly. Hope all is well by now.

Thanks for the thought, anyway, jmb. There is that about it, TF! Did you ask this man what he DOES do?! Fight you for him, Lee! That is very gallant, as befits a knight, Sir James. I did and I commented x. Thanks, Lizzie. Yes, they do and as you say, it's so boring! Ciao, Gleds, I never thought of that! Sorry - I didn't realise about the 8 things. I'll do them over the weekend. Thanks, Sally. Sorry you had so much rain again. Hope you are fixed up, too, now. Hi, Lady M. I have no intention of using that ladder on the balcony! So you did, Sir James - I'm late getting them on today 'cos of the heat.
