MINI GOLF SICILIAN STYLE

Gino the artist has built a mini golf course in a shaded area of his garden and today I was invited, along with about a dozen other friends, to its "opening". The idea was that we would all, before lunch, play a little to inaugurate the course, but in the event the "refreshments" glade was so - well, refreshing - that we all just sat around enjoying the shade, the company and our aperitivi! After an antipasto of Caesar salad, lunch consisted of cannelloni, roast chicken with an apricot stuffing and rice-filled roasted peppers. Everyone had brought a dessert so lunch lasted till six o'clock!

Those peppers look nice. Although what did Shirley Conran say? Something like, 'Life's too short to stuff a - what was it?'

Hi, Anne. Yes, good idea even though no one played! Ciao, Liz. "... a mushroom" was what she said. I rather like stuffed mushrooms, myself. And these peppers were sublime!

Sounds like a good time was had by all. Imagine him painting the course before the opening.
Lunch looks delicious, I think I would weigh if I lived there.

Looks like a lovely meal and nice way to spend an afternoon. Apricot stuffed chicken, sounds wonderful!
I just finished canning 10 jars of apricot jam and five of pluot jam. I'm having troubles with my camera but will post my pics soon.

Hey, Welshcakes, we're Admins-without-portfolio! What on earth does that mean? Will we get to meet the Queen?

My family love golf, James was playing yesterday. We went to a car boot sale in the morning and he bought six clobs for the bargain price of £1. I imagine the Sicilians have far more interesting things to do with their Sunday morning.

What a delicious feast too, lucky you.

Yup more food in the sun- lovely description I was "green" with envy, if I had a pepper I would soon "putt" a "hole in one", I wouldn't eat like a "birdie" more like an "eagle". I must come a "round " some time... shall I go on?

Hi, jmb. Yes, typical Gino to paint it before opening! Lunch was, indeed, wonderful. Hi, pink. Gosh, you've been busy! Coming over to visit your blog later. Hope you get the pics on! Hi, Lee. Yes, leisurely lunches are my scene, too. Glad you like the idea, Steve! Liz, that sounds very governmental! You never know... Ellee, no car boot sales here - Mass and lunch preparations, usually - or a leisurely stroll before lunch. Excellent, Mutley - yes, do go on!

P'rhaps I'm wrong but I always thought it was 'too short to stuff a cherry tomato'?
Great pics WCLC

They were quite something, JJ. Lizzie, I just looked it up - definitely "mushroom". [I still have my original copy of "Superwoman".] But she's right anyway!
