I presume this is a cactus of sorts.
Are cacti common in Sicily?

I can't help but think of Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef..."The Good, The Bad And The Ugly" when I see that pic!

And where are Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone when you want them? ;)

Hi, Crushed. These prickly pear plants are absolutely everywhere. They grow where a leaf from another falls. Other cacti are common, too. Glad you like it, janejill and Sally - it is rather jolly, isn't it? Lee, they must be lurking behind the plant! Hi, Steve. Yes, I saw them in the US too and brought back the pickled ones with me to cook Mexican dishes. Whenever my Nevada friend used to come over, I'd make her bring me a jar!
