I loved this display of sweet Sicilian carrots, surrounded by young artichokes, on display in a supermarket this morning. - Such a simple, yet effective, idea.
Hi, Betty. I love them in any form! Hi, jams. The carrots have a very sweet flavour - something to do with the soil here and the artichokes are wonderful. Hi, Mopsa. Yes, tons of them here! Hi, Cherie. They are much sweeter than British carrots. Hi, Sally. You must try artichokes! Salad is always good.
I'm a sort-of retired language teacher from Cardiff, Wales, UK, now trying to make a new life in Sicily. I'm not growing vines, making olive oil or restoring a palace stone by stone!

Oh yes...how I wish I could find a decent artichoke to buy here. I love steamed artichokes.
Now that's a display I like! Utterly delicious I will wager!
I've just run out of carrots and was bemoaning the fact (to go with the brisket and dumplings for tonight), and there you are, overwhelmed with them.
I can almost taste them :-)
still never tasted an artichoke infact been real bad an had no vegetables this week :-( but had plenty of salad :-)

Lovely colourful display. Nothing like local fresh produce instead of trucked from 1500 miles away. Or in cold storage for months.
I agree, jmb.
What's your best carrot recipe WL?
I'll have to give that some thought, WW.
