ISN'T SHE LOVELY?

- I think so. This Florence Studio figurine is my early birthday present to myself. Giorgio's temptation-filled shop on the Via Sacro Cuore has a whole window of similarly magnificent ladies, causing me to smile as I pass and making me feel glad to be alive and a curvy woman.

Welshcakes, that is a lovely figurine.

If you get a chance, go and check the post that Pete, Shirl's husband did a while ago. Really funny.

Happy birthday for whenever it is. Enjoy that magnificent present. Will we be let in on the secret of the date?

There are curves and then there are curves, Welshcakes.

She's great in many senses of the world! Just like me.

A sneaky reference to an upcoming birthday which is when exactly?

Steve, I did and it's great. Have added Pete to my blogroll. If only more people could laugh at themselves....
Pete, Shirl, now that would be telling!
James, which of us are you referring to, exactly?!

That's a fun figurine...it makes one happy looking at it.

Yes, Happy Birthday from me to, Welsh, for whenever it is. :)

Very similar to the - what? - got it - Beryl Cook ladies. And there are some figurines you can get in good gift shops of traditionally-built, as Precious Ramotswe would say, ladies lounging on ottomans with chocolates. very lovely. No-one buys them for me and they're not the sort of thing you can buy for someone else in case they take it personally! So good on you for buying it yourself!

I think too many curves for James, lots of love handles! But certainly a character to grace your home.

I guess your birthday is soon, wish we could all join you for cake and bubbly.

Thanks, Lee. It's not yet. I just had to get that figurine before anyone else did! Liz, yes, it's not exactly the kind of thing you could give to your best woman friend, is it? - if you wanted to stay friends, that is! I used to love those Beryl Cook paintings, then suddenly they went right out of fashion for some reason. Ellee, I'll have cake and bubbly with you all in spirit - when it comes round, that is...

There's nothing stopping you from enjoying all the frills before 'it', whatever 'it' is, appears. Cake, wine, salami, crackers, cheese, olives, anchovies, anything that tasts good...whatever takes your fancy, is always there for you to partake in...none of us need a reason other than we feel like doing so and partaking in the joys of living! ;)

I'm with you there, Lee!

I like her very much, and I do hope we go back to that beauty standard some day. Wouldn't that be lovely, James? Heh!
