NOT-THE-COMPUTER-DESK

Jams has a not-wife. Well, I have a not-the-computer-desk [sad, sad....]. I won it, actually, years ago in a Habitat slogan competition. Rosa has been hinting that we should tidy it up for ages and this week I gave in because I am of an age to perceive it when someone is beginning to despair of me! The not-the-computer-desk had got piled up with paper - I don't know how this happens; it just does - and these piles, like my book collection, grow in the night when they think Simi and I aren't looking. Now the challenge is: how long can I keep it like this?

It looks fine to me - when I come to visit this summer I can live in there!

Hmmm! I had an enforced tidying of my computer desk this weekend!

So I ma guessing it wont look that way for very long. I know mine wont ;-)

Those nasty piles of paper...my sis and I were just talking about our own piles of paper cluttering up every flat space in the house...with the exception of my mouse pad...

Looks like you've got it under control, Welsh!

It depends on the pile of paper; "Not all piles of paper are equal".

Trait A pile of paper: this is a pile of paper that is constantly worked on. The owner of the pile of paper refuses to print out stuff he/she thinks is printed out already and is somewhere in the pile of paper so goes to the pile of paper to find the sheets of interest, and after pulling them out of the pile of paper puts them on top of the pile of paper. This process is repeated to the extent that dust does not gather on the pile of paper. The trait A pile of paper ends up with the important sheets near the top and unimportant sheets towards the bottom. Solution: every month throw away the bottom half of the Trait A pile of paper.

Trait B pile of paper: …

Wow! That's incredibly tidy! Now I know you'll never find anything again.

Looks great as it is. For me that is pristine - a state that lasts me a mere nanosecond!

Which drawer would you like to live in, Mutley? I think you're right, Cherie. Hi, pink. I don't know about that.... Hi, Dr CW. I don't think I could cope with pile B! Anne and jmb, the computers are on a proper computer desk on the other side of the room. They probably will get tidied away if Rosa gets at them! WW, it was Habitat and Cardiff Bay trying to flog houses in that area. You had to say why it was a convenient place to live. My slogan was something like:
"There's sea and fun at Cardiff Bay
and town is just 2 miles away."
- I know but it did the trick!
Ciao, Saretta. I think half an hour would be pretty good! You have a good point there, dragonstar! Hi, jams. I'm sure my nanosecond will be shorter than yours! Almost, Lost, almost.... Hi, Sally. That's a good point, too.

It looks quite organized now. I have pieces of paper all over the place. My organizational skills stink. :) I keep working at it, but all I do is shuffle piles.

Hi, Betty. That's my idea of tidying too - move the piles somewhere else!
