SIX MORE WEEKS....

.... before this ratafia di arance, made to Chiara's recipe, will be ready to drink. Today it had its first straining and I have added the syrup. Now I have to wait two weeks before straining it again and then it will need to be left for a further month. It already smells good!

I saw the photo- and thought of the time I had to collect 24 hours worth of tinkle for the hospital when they were trying to work out why I had high blood pressure.

I imagine yours smells better than mine did...

I'm almost as eager as you are, Welsh to try the finished product! I'm dying to know how it turns out...I'm sure it will turn out well!

When you next visit my blog, have a look at "Fauxnews' in my links just below "Wino's Blog"...Wino aka Don and I have just set it up. It's all meant in fun. ;)

Hi, Ellee. The trouble in Britain is you can't buy pure alcohol for culinary purposes so you have to use vodka or that Polish white spirit stuff. In Britain I did successfully make Limoncello and even an orange ratafia toa French recipe using vodka but the result is a stronger drink. I'm hoping this orange ratafia will be nicer because of the quality of the oranges. IG., I was waiting for that! And you think I'M obsessive-compulsive?! Sally, I'm sure your wine was fine! Lee, I wish you could come and share some! Will do that when I'm over at your blog later.
