SWEETER THAN THE BERRY

"O ruddier than the cherry,
O sweeter than the berry"
- John Gay, "Acis and Galatea", 11.
Remember this? Well, now it has turned into this [above]: I decided to strain and bottle my gin ai mirtilli this afternoon and very fine and smooth it tastes, too, even if I do say so myself. Cincin, everyone!

It looks scrummy. What sort of proof is it?

That lot should keep you going for a while...

Hi, Ian. No idea! Whatever proof the gin is, I suppose .... Yes, it'll warm the cockles of my heart - and the hearts of my friends, hopefully - for the rest of winter, at least!

Each to his or her own but mine's whisky, Welshcakes. My friend informally classifies people according to if they like fine coffee or not. I classify people as to if they can enjoy nature's products, such as your glassware contains in the pics. A teetotaller is just a little too strict for my blood.

Hi, James. Mine's usually a g and t, as you know, but I like to have a stash of home-made, pretty-coloured liqueurs. I'm with your friend on the coffee issue!

Oooh, could do with a glass now to warm me up, it's miserable and damp here today.

Maybe one day, Welscakes and I will enjoy a couple of g and ts together.

I intend to enjoy, Liz, especially on a cold and windy night like this one! Yes, maybe one day we will, Ellee.
