ON THE DODGEMS

That's what it's like sometimes in my street.  Everyone agrees that a narrow side street is a stupid place to put a post office, especially as there are no parking spaces and Italians drive everywhere.  Nevertheless, people continue to park, do u-turns and generally abuse the little street and this is what happened to the barrier post in our courtyard on Monday.   The other side's just as bad.  A bit of a mess, don't you think?

It is indeed, fullet! Hi, Cherie. It is. Hi, jams. That's what I'd like to know. I wasn't here when it happened.

I'm surprised Italy still has a population of 55 or 60 million!!

On precarious roads, do you ever round particularly gruesome bends with sheer drop on one siide and the other festooned with about four dozen Virgin Mary statues, complete with lighted candles, flowers and sometimes even photographs commemorating all who died on that particular bend?

I've seen that a few times in Southern Spain and it hardly inspires confidence!

Hi, Gleds. Yes, I know the kind of bends you mean!
