AN ICE CREAM FESTA

The Florentines are having a gelato festival and how I wish I could attend!  What's more, they say one of their reasons for staging the festival is that ice cream is actually good for you.  I knew there was wisdom in the ice cream diet!   Here is the link to my Italy Magazine article about the festival .  I'll be cheering it on from here:

I've always meant to try out Ben & Jerry's version of Strawberry Cheesecake to see how it compares with Haagen Dasz, but it's nowhere near as widely stocked.

I always wished someone would come up with a compromise between the two brands. Haagen Dasz/however you spell it and I cannot find dots on this computer is too classy for my taste and the bits in Ben and Jerry's are too big. I'd rather have twice as many half as small bits.

Strawberry Cheesecake is the only posh icecream I really really really like. And I did try just buying value cheesecakes and eating 'em frozen.

But it's not the same!!

Wow, the gelato festival sounds brilliant! I did a gelato marathon here in Torino where I tried 12 unique flavors in about 2 hours from gelatorias all over the city. I discovered my new favorite flavor of ricotta and caramelized figs.
We have the chocolate festival here where you can try dozens of different flavors of hot chocolate. Yum!

I second their festival! Now why doesn't Positano come up with good ideas like that??

What an ice cream connoisseur you are, Gleds! Interesting experiment with the cheesecakes there. HI, IC. Now that sounds like the kind of marathon I could get interested in! We have a chocolat festival here, too. Well, we are supposed to but it seems to have disappeared this year. Absolutely, fullet! You'll have to start one there, Scintilla.

Of course ice cream is good for you, that's why you look so good!
