THESE FOOLISH THINGS....

'Tis the season to be melancholy and that's how I felt when I saw a man for whom I have feelings - he doesn't know about this - strolling in the April sunshine with his new love today.  I decided to go and buy something I didn't need but, it being 1 pm, only the newsagent's was open.  So now I have yet another baking tin, coutesy of the magazine with which it came "free" [if you paid an extra 7 euros].

The moral of this tale is that you can be a fool at any age.

But at least you can bang a baking tin about and make a lot of satisfying noise!

As the inimitable Dorothy Parker put it:

"Travel, trouble, music, art,
A kiss, a frock, a rhyme-
I never said they feed my heart,
But still they pass my time. "

- Dorothy Parker, Faute de Mieux.

Oh yes! We buy things to feed our inner hunger.

Love, love your post. And the great song. And the funny rhyme. And we do make fools of ourselves but it makes life worth living. You'll use that pan soon enough with your wonderful cooking.
Expecting a new fabulous recipe anytime now. Thanks!

Sad to read you feeling like that, Welshcakes... (and looking so elegant, too...) There I was envying you your glorious sunny Sicilian lifestyle - sitting outside enjoying your fruit cup...

At least you didn't do too much damage (to your purse) with your purchase! Curiously I bought the same magazine in the UK, yesterday, although it came without the baking dish...

Buona Serata! x

I knew yopu'd understand, lakeviewer. Thank you, Claudia. You have cheered me up. Hugs gratefully accepted, KQ. Thank you. Hi, amethyst and thanks for the empathy. I think we all imagine other people's lives are always sunny. What a coincidence that you bought the same magazine! Hi, Lucia. I'm glad you like the video. Hi, WW. No, you need the griddle for those. A tray bake, I think.
