ABUNDANCE

A friend brought me these cute, dinky grapefruit from her garden today

and lots of other citrus fruit besides!

A lot of people won't eat grapefruit here so often they just go to waste. And I know I keep saying it but there is nothing , absolutely nothing, like the scent and taste of a freshly-picked, Sicilian lemon.

When we moved on the Naval base we had two lemon trees in our front yard! I miss them still.

Oooh fresh warm sweet smelling lemons! Take lemons sliced and golden syrup and suet and chuck them in a greased bowl in a bain marie and end up with a bloody lovely pudding....oh I salviate myself.

Ok, my bags are packed and I'll see you in 13 hours. I'll be arriving hungry and malnourished.

I like grapefruit now but used to find them very sour. Maybe the Sicilians find them so.

Hi, Betty. That must have been lovely. Me too, Saretta and Cherie. Hi, DD. Can't get golden syrup here! See you soon! Hi, jmb. Maybe they do, only they are quite sweet if you eat them straight from the tree.
