MEDITERRANEAN MORNING

A nice drive down to the sea with Linda and Gino this morning. At an almost deserted Marina di Modica, the sea shimmered with tantalising colours in the autumnal light and a beautiful hibiscus was in full bloom.

Some discerning [mostly German] campers have taken up residence, in their vans, in one of the squares; apparently they shut up their homes for the winter, thus saving on fuel, and spend the season here. Not a bad idea, is it?

That middle picture is so inviting. I'd love to be able to sit on those stone benches right now.

Oh what I wouldn't give to be able to see the Med today! The rain has somewhat abated, but let's face it, it's November in North America! blah!

That's a tonic for your spirits! I must say that since I've been working in Bournemouth, I get withdrawal symptoms if I don't see the sea once a week.

I wish I was there now rather than waiting for a plumber with a streaming cold!

And one day you will, dragonstar! Hi, Leslie. One day when we are both better, perhaps we'll have a drink on the Med! Thanks, Rhi. Of course - I am flattered. Hi, Anne. Glad you have had good weather in Liguria. Hi, WW. Yes, we don't realise how much we need to see the sea, do we? Poor jams - I know all about waiting for plumbers....

Are they allowed to do that? I can understand why though.

Hi, Ellee. Yes, they are there perfectly legally. They don't bother anybody and empty their loos in the designated places!
