IL TE DI SANTO STEFANO

Welshcakes purists, look away now because I put dried cranberries instead of sultanas into this batch that I made for Boxing Day tea at Chiara's today:

I must say, the general opinion was that the experiment was a success so it's one that I'll be repeating!

Here are some of the other goodies that were set before us upon this pleasant occasion:

Grazie a Chiara e a tutti gli amici.

What wonderful looking sweets!

I hope you had a very Merry Christmas, Pat. I'm sorry to read in your comment to me on my blog that you weren't feeling well for awhile. I hope you are much better, now!

I was away visiting my children and grandchildren in Colorado for a few weeks so between that and trying to prepare for Christmas in NY my blog visits were minimal.

Looking forward to the new year!

I love to eat welshcakes and you have reminded me that it is a very long time since I have had them..........cranberries instead of sultanas obviously a good experiment. Yummy.

Hi, Jenny. It was certainly a tempting feast! Hi, Pat. I'm on the mend now but it's slow. Hope you had a great time in Colorado and Happy New Year to you. It was indeed, Rosaria. Cuby and Rachel- I'm so glad you both approve!

Delicious, and all completely fat-free, I am quite sure ;-)

btw WL, how do you stay so slim? No doubt it's the Sicilian diet, all that olive oil and what not.

Hello, WY and Happy New Year. I'm not particularlt slim, you know. But we don't eat like that every day! I think it's the fruit that helps, mainly. Yes, it was delicious, Cherie and Liz.
