THREE SUMMER FAVOURITES

A glass of iced tea with a goodly dollop of lemon granita in it:

The last of the spring lemon crop.  These are so big and round that they could almost be mistaken for grapefruit - until you are close enough to enjoy their scent, that is:

And my favourite fruit of all, the tabacchiere ["snuff box-shaped"] peaches from Etna:

Lemons always get my vote :-)

We have a summer beverage called an "Arnold Palmer" after the golf pro. It is 1/2 ice tea and 1/2 lemonade. But see...the Italians invented it first...just like everything else!

What a wonderful idea to add lemon granita to iced tea. I will have to try that.

All this summer fruit looks so lovely if only we had the temps to go with it. I have a hot coffee next to me not just to drink but also cuddle! Summer must be just around the corner wish wish. I love the photos of lemons.

Upper 30s to 40 C at the moment, James. Mine too, Cherie. Hi, Patricia. Yes, the Italians invented everything! Thanks, Claude. All the bars do it here, Rowena - it's wonderful. Hi, cuby poet. Hope it warms up for you there soon. They taste divine, LindyLouMac.

This year I saw those flat peaches here in Puglia for the first time! Yummy!

Doughnut peaches we call those. I first came across them only a couple of years ago, in Stockholm of all places. Juicy and yummy and not too large.

And there's your beautiful green Wedgwood "leaf" plate again! It takes me straight back to my grandmother's house to see that. I think I mentioned it before.

Hi, WY. How interesting that you found the peaches in Stockholm! Yes, I've kept the plate all these years!
