It's time for my friend mountaingirl's Photo Challenge again and this week's theme is "town": When will I get used to seeing vegetation like this as I go about my shopping in Modica's newest commercial centre?
By the way, this is the first picture I've taken with my new phone. I couldn't work out how to upload it so in the end I sent it to myself!

Seems your camera phone is working perfectly :-)
Hi, Cherie. I was amazed that it worked this well. But as for synchronising it with the computer.... first it said I should download IE8, so I did, then there were a load of instructions for fancy things it could do and all I wanted was to get the pic from the phone to the computer! Then IE8 wouldn't open blogger so I redownloaded Firefox. Then blogger went down!
There's something about cactus plants that I find quite scary.. To look at I mean lol
Not the kind of town vegetation I'm used to at all!
A great photo for a new camera! Is that a prickly pear? Are they used for anything? We have them as weeds here but I am sure they must have a constructive use somewhere :-)
Hi, Alison. I'm not a fan of cacti myself - except at a distance! But these are everywhere in Sicily. They just grow wherever a blown leaf settles. Thanks, mg. Yes, prickly pear. The fruit is eaten here in the autumn and they are used to make liqueurs and even ice creams. I love them.
Just shows how hot it is over there...
