A maestrale [Mistral] wind is causing chaos all over Sicily and the noise it is making at the moment is quite scary. Palermo, where a man fell from a third floor balcony whilst trying to repair a TV aerial, has been the worst-hit city. Indeed, I thought poor Rosa would go flying off my own balcony as she attempted to hang out some washing [on the airer which stands on the sheltered part of the balcony, not on the line, I should add]. "Come back in!" I yelled. "I've only just found you and I can't lose you to the wind!" In she came, giggling. There was no flinging open of doors and windows today and Simi, having got used to Rosa's routine, looked as concerned when her things were not dumped on the balcony as she usually does when they are. Rosa, I discovered this afternoon, can sew as well as tidy, sort, iron and generally perform household miracles and is happy to carry out small repairs or alterations to my clothes. [Is there anything this woman cannot do?!]
I had my hair done this morning, despite the weather. I have no intention of deserting my lovely Raffaele but I cannot walk as far as his salon yet. So I decided to try a new one which has opened in this very street and I found it pretty good, the best part being that they have those chairs that give you a sensual back massage while you are being shampooed. I felt all - well - oooooh! - after that, readers.

Rosa seems like a lovely lady..:-) so pleased you have found someone to help you.
Shame you cannot walk to your lovely Raffaele yet, but happy you have found another place to have your hair done...with one of those amazing chairs ...yes ooooh, my hairdresser has one of those as well...:-) :-)
How did that chair make you feel again?
A back massage? Oooh!
Hello Welshcakes:
You must hang on to Rosa at all costs, she sounds an absolute treasure!
Many years ago when DT and I were holidaying in Gran Canaria, an almighty storm blew up. A chap in the opposite hotel had hung his shirt out to dry on a line when ,a gust of wind carried it up, right over the top of the fourteen story hotel. The look of incredulity on the chap's face was a sight to behold.
I like the sound of the massaging hairdresser's chair, I could do with one of those to sort out my back.
I hope your health is still improving,
Take care,
love to you and Simi,
Di.xx
That's the one I really wanted to be there for. Sounds great.
The massage sounds good :-)
Sounds like one of those contraptions "Barbarella" used,
a long time ago, in a galaxy far away
A massage while you're being shampooed?! Do try not to groan too loudly in pleasure!
Rosa sounds like a gem, does she travel? ;)
I love those chairs, I always feel like I'm getting the works when I'm really just paying for a pedicure.
Do you think a Mistral means that you should wear red shoes?
Ooops...Typo. 'Storey'...not story!
We had that same wind here...it blew three of my new solar panels off the roof! What a disaster!
Rosa does sound lovely! I'm glad she came into your life!
Hi, Anne. She is and so am I! I am determined to get to Raff soon!
Hi, Calum. Here's an "ooooh!", juat for you. Hi, dragonstar. Oooh is the only word for it! Hi, Trubes. Yes, I must. I'd love to have aseen the poor man's face. Didn't notice the typo. You'd have enjoyed the back massage, James. Oh, it was, cherrypie. Old and Angry, I'll have to refresh my memory about Barbarella! I'll try, Liz! Hi, pink. I'll ask her. Those chairs are great, aren't they? Sorry about your disaster, Saretta. I'm glad I found Rosa, too.
How awful, that accident due to the wind. I guess people don't believe that the wind is as powerful as it is.
Indeed, you must not lose your treasure now that you have found her.
Glad you have found another hairdressers too. That massage sounds a definite bonus. I'm sure Raffaele would oblige if you asked him nicely...
Yes, it was an awful accident and there qwere others, too, jmb. Doing my nest to hold on to my treasure! I'm sure he would, Ellee....
