A lovely, relaxing supper last night in the garden of friends Linda, Gino and Chiara. The gin and tonic was ready to be mixed on its own little table and then we were served: San Daniele ham with the first figs of the season; homemade pizza and scacce [focaccia bread]; cheese and onion bread; omelette filled with chicken and spinach; fruit including my favourite anguria [watermelon]; and take a close look at the last photo, for these are not little cakes but little ice creams, from a bar in Modica Alta which James and I are determined to find!

That bread looks delicious.
Thanks for the recipe too! I must keep it sfae this time.
What a wonderful dinner! I'm getting hungry just looking at the photos! *Cheers*
And you did not have to cook this feast but just enjoy it! Although I am sure you contributed something as is your way.
Sheesh Welshcakes, I'm really going to have to stop visiting here every morning, it always makes me hungry straight after breakfast! This ice creams look divine, I've never heard of figs and ham being served like that. My Nanna used to have a fig tree though, I imagine the flavours would go well together. The homemade pizza and focaccia look delicious! It's not that long to lunch time......is it?
I've just eaten breakfast and oh dear..all of this has made me rather hungry again. Tha omelette looks mighty appealing...
Now Welshcakes, I will be looking forward to the post on those treats in the last photo. What a delightful way to end a meal!
I possibly run a better chance this week of finding the little ice creams but one never knows.
It all looks delicious, I espicially like the look of those ice creams :-)
I've never eaten fresh figs. They look quite different from the dried ones. Those mini icecream cakes look just the thing for summer weather.
I am broke again due to unforseen circumstances... do you have any recipes for frugal living?
Simply love the first pic the glimpse of the garden behind. You must live in heaven...
Hello Welshcakes: I have again, been having difficulties trying to access your site, however, all seems well now!
That food looks and sound scrummy.
As you seem to rather enjoy a G+T, have you ever tried the Gin from Mahon in Menorca?
I can highly recommend it. Wonderful stuff!
Love to you and Simi ,also James,
from a very wet and humid Liverpool.
At present, Chloe is sitting under a very wet sun lounger next to her best friend, Rocket the Rabbit.

Hi, Kyles. I keep forgetting what time it is over there!
Thanks, Rowena.
James, go forth and explore!
They were delicious, cherrypie.
Hi, dragonstar. The fresh figs do taste different, and these early ones taste totally different again.
Mutley: pasta, pasta, pasta!
It does seem that way sometimes, indigo-daisy. But life has its difficulties, just like anywhere else.
Ciao, Trubes. I gather that was a problem with the Sitemeter thing but I don't understand it all. Thanks for persevering. Never tried Menorcan gin but will bear it in mind! Lots of love to you all, especially Chloe and Rocket.xxx
Thanks, M.
Very civilised, I think, jams.
Thanks anne, TT and WW.
