My blogging friend Anne wanted to know what I was going to do with the lamb I bought on Saturday but I was going to inflict this upon you all anyway. I finally decided to make this slow-cooked dish of lamb with garlic in a mushroom and white wine sauce. Yes, it's another one from the Cucina del Sole book! As with all casseroley-type dishes, I would recommend making this the day before you want to serve it.

Oh yum, I bet the flavors really develop overnight if you cook it day before. I must try this, now where is my taste tester? :-)
My bloody slow cooker has broken and sprung a leak right through the heating element at the bottom ie totally unusable. Now I've got to shell out £10 for Argos's cheapest. (Not much more than a big saucepan but free heating and no fire hazard: that's how I see it and I cannot do without my stews especially as summer's coming and I do everything on its head...)... yeah... ain't life a bitch!!

It sounds scrumptious. I love lamb but it is rather expensive here, especially for stewing.
