My blogging friend Anne wanted to know what I was going to do with the lamb I bought on Saturday but I was going to inflict this upon you all anyway. I finally decided to make this slow-cooked dish of lamb with garlic in a mushroom and white wine sauce. Yes, it's another one from the Cucina del Sole book! As with all casseroley-type dishes, I would recommend making this the day before you want to serve it.

Looks lovely. I don't eat lamb ;would it be ok with pork?
Oh yum, I bet the flavors really develop overnight if you cook it day before. I must try this, now where is my taste tester? :-)
My bloody slow cooker has broken and sprung a leak right through the heating element at the bottom ie totally unusable. Now I've got to shell out £10 for Argos's cheapest. (Not much more than a big saucepan but free heating and no fire hazard: that's how I see it and I cannot do without my stews especially as summer's coming and I do everything on its head...)... yeah... ain't life a bitch!!
;->...
That does sound nice. Lamb in white wine though - that's unusual. Tell us how it turns out.
Sounds lovely....haven;t had lamb for ages...I am going to look for that book, as you have had some great feasts out of it!! :-)
Another great looking dish.... can almost smell it from here :-)
Hi, MM. I should think it would be fine with pork. Thanks, nunyaa. Sending you a cyber-taste now! Hi, Gleds. Sorry that has happened. I had a "Tower" slowcooker for years and loved it. Then it just gave up the ghost and no other was quite the same. I don't have one here. Hi, Liz. It turned out very well indeed! Hi, Anne. Yes, that cookbook has turned out to be an investment! Thanks,Sally.
Mmm! Tasty :-)
Yummy - lamb, garlic, mushrooms, white wine sauce - all my favourites! I'm on my way! lol
It sounds scrumptious. I love lamb but it is rather expensive here, especially for stewing.
Oh lamb, lamb - and in your hands. Sigh.
looks lovely Welshcakes, as MG hears me whinge every wednesday, i don't do mushrooms...hehe...but for this i'd try them!
Sounds scrummy.
Thanks, cherrypie. You'll be welcome, Leslie! Hi, jmb. The lamb here tastes totally different from that available in the UK and you need to be choosy about where you buy it. James - smile. [I can't do those punctuation-mark symbol thingies.] I am honoured indeed, Kyles. Thanks, Ellee.
Divine!
Thank you, mg.
