You are so lucky to still be able to sit outside and enjoy ice cream! The weather here's more suited to wild boar ragu.
I'm all for gelato at any time of year! We were just visiting my dad in Turkey - he had loads of pomegranates so what we started doing was just to put the whole fruit (cut in half) in the freezer, and eat it frozen as a kind of super-cheating sorbet.
