YOU KNOW YOU'RE GETTING OLD WHEN [2]....

.... you hear a friend explaining to her children that watches used to have wind-up mechanisms.  You feel even older when you tell them that yours still works that way!

What I really want - and am always on the lookout for - is a proper clock that ticks.

Ideally I'd love a grandfather clock but they're too expensive.

Hope your Christmas was better than you could have hoped for. Love to you and Simi from me and George. xx

I always ruined my wind up watches by winding them too tight. Thankfully, the new type came along!!!

oh nooooo not a cuckoo clock .. would drive you barmy .. and so would a grandfather clock.

My mother-in-law has a clock that ticks in the spare room where we sleep .. I have to put it in the other room before I get into bed , if I forget ..it annoys me and I cannot sleep ..

Hi, Rosaria. I never thought of that!
Hi, Carmen. I used to do that, too. Hi, Anne. Well, I suppose it would drive me mad really!

I used to have a Timex watch. It was probably an adult ladies watch but I was 7 or 8 so it fitted perfectly. Absolutely beautiful. Chrome dial with simple face, black numbers on a white dial. Black leather strap. I loved it. I think I grew out of it in the end...

... and it was wind-up!

Hi, Gleds. I used to have a Timex, too - with Cinderella on it. I loved it.
