It's Friday already and time for my friend mountaingirl's Photo Challenge. This week's theme is "guide".
My friend Sally, who comments on this blog, is the author of "Sicily" in the AA Spiral Guide series and was kind enough to send me a copy.

I very much like the clear way in which this guide is set out and it is packed with a lot more information than you would imagine from its size.
Well done and thank you again, Sally!

Hi WL, how wonderful of Sally to send you a copy of this guide..I must have a look out for it.
Yes, kit was very kind of her, Anne. I think you'd enjoy the guide.
I just bookmarked the AA Italy Guides page. I found the Sicily book order page, and I'm thinking about the Venice book as well. I'll be going for the first time (a gift to my neapolitan "fidanzata") in October. Should be fun!
Looks just the thing, if I ever fulfil my ambition of visiting Sicily. Will look out for edition covering Provence. Love pretending to be a tourist ;-)! There is so much you miss, living somewhere lovely but keeping head down & coping with everyday life, so a good guidbook can be invaluable. Well done to Sally for writing it and sending you a copy! Bisous to you + calins for Simi.
Hey, looks like your bookshelves will soon be full of guidebooks, because you have won my "guess the nationality" contest! Please contact me through the email listed on my blog profile and let me know how I can send "Apulia, A Film Tourism Guide" to you.
What's this Mountaingirl thing, Welshcakes? I know you're high on a hill but it's hardly a mountain now.
Peter, how romantic! I am so pleased that the guides interest you. Hi, Phidelm. I am sure you will visit Sicily one day and what a time we will have! I agree with you that you can forget all the amazing things around you sometimes as you cope with the mundane and a quick glance at a good guidebook always helps. Buona domenica to you from Simi and me.xx Saretta, I am surprised and delighted! I'll email you now. The book sounds very interesting and I'll be so happy to receive it.Hi, James. She's my online friend and there's a link to her blog in the post. Hardly a mountain, it is true, but my life feels like one sometimes!
That guide looks wonderful :-)
What a surprise I got this morning when I checked out your doings and found my Sicily book in glorious technicolor! Thank you for posting it.......nose down now with Venice so off there for a chunk of October. Sometimes my working life ain't too bad!!!
Hi, Cherie. I think it's excellent. Hi, Sally. My pleasure. I do mean it when I say it's an excellent guide. Lucky you, spending some time in Venice! Do give me a ring while you're in Italy. xx
