NITWIT OF THE YEAR!

- That's me, folks! I know we're not yet a month into 2007 but I doubt anyone could beat me for the title! I was just looking under the "moderate comments" thing because I don't know how to turn the moderation off and I found all the missing comments, right there! So now I have published them and I WILL go back and reply to them, I promise! So apologies to those of you who must have thought I was being very rude and ignoring and /or deleting comments and thank you to you all, especially for being persistent.

I think I need a gin and tonic!

Don't feel too bad, Blogger was having some issues...it kept timing out and I couldn't tell if my comments were accepted.

Have a couple, and a couple for me, Welsh! ;)

I'm the biggest nitwit in the southern hemisphere then...I'm prepared to share the title! ;)

Good for you. I hope that storm we had didn't find its way down south.

Have more than that. Also, good that the comments biz has been sorted out.

Thanks, Gary. You make me feel better! Lee, you, too! Happy to share the appellation! Steve, we had some Scrirocco overnight but nothing like you have had there. Have visited you this evening so am relieved to know you are both safe. Cin-cin, Lee! I did, James, I did....

tin drummer, it always was! You're all welcome to come over for antipasti, home-made bread, ragu bolognese, whatever main dish I am in the mood to cook, plus dolci and wine any time - and comment, of course!

The social aspect of your errands made me think about how much our business transactions are purely monetary. Those human touches make a big difference in the development of worthwhile commercial relationships, whether it is the baker, the jeweller or your largest client. In my small way I like to get my animal supplies from the grain store and my bread from the Vietnamese Bakery and my Vegetables from the Vietnamese Vegetable shop rather than the supermarket. There is a level of human interaction that is very comforting.

It's great to have the comments coming in regularly again, Ellee and Liz!
Hi, Colin. I think this comment was meant to go on the "closures" post. Yes, there is something very comforting about this kind of interaction. I'd love to know what exotic vegetables they sell in the Vietnemese shop! I collect "Australian Woman's Weekly" cookbooks so know that you have a wide choice of unusual vegetables there.

Hey! Were any of them mine?

A lot of times I post and when I come back I can't find the comment. Although, I probably just hit preview and not publish.

By "them," I mean missing comments, of course!

Hi, Bonnie. Yes, I found a lot of your comments. Hopefully they are all published now! Thanks for not giving up.
