This was, I think, the first piece of classical music that I ever listened to intently and I thank the teacher who made me love it - when I was five years old. I think you all know why the following words are in my mind at the moment:
"Che farò? Dove andrò?
Che farò senza il mio ben?"
Che farò senza il mio ben?"
Kathleen Ferrier - Che farò senza Euridice?

I hope the classics still play an important part in the lives of children today like they did when we were kids. In my opinion, it's important...a good base.
Music stirs so many emotions within us; some happy; many sad.
Try to keep your chin up, Pat. Be happy...try not to let yourself fall into a hole. I know how easy it is to do so. Don't feel alone...don't be lonely.
You have many who care for and about you...and when you're ready, adopt yourself a little furry mate to help you smile again. There is one out there eagerly waiting to leap into your open arms and heart. :)
I hope so too, Lee. Thank you for your kind words. I know you are right. x
Hello dear Pat,
That is such a mournful but lovely song.
I remember my Grandma playing it over and over, on an old fashioned, HMV gramophones, complete with a big tuba type device coming out of it, to bring the sound in the room.
She played it when she was mourning the loss of her youngest son, Jack, in
WW2 at just 22year of age.
It is alright to mourn, it just takes time for the ache to ease, then it will be replaced with warm and happier memories of lost loved ones.
I do agree with Lee when she says, "You have many who care for and about you, and when you're ready adopt yourself a little furry mate to help you smile again. There is one out their eagerly waiting to leap into your open arms and heart".
So succinctly put Lee.
'Touching and true'
Love and kind thoughts to you dear Pat,
and warm memories of darling little Simi..xx
Di and Chloe Cat purr purr xxx
Chloe said 'have you not thought of having a cat' but I gently told her 'I think Auntie Pat prefers doggies'.xx
Thsnk you, dear Di, for taking the time to write such lovely words of comfort. they do help, as do Lee's. I enjoyed the story of your grandma and can picture her listening to it. How sad that her son died so young. Please tell chloe I'm sorry, but I'm allergic to cat fur! Lots of love xx
