I was very pleased and touched when my student Giorgio put this photo on facebook with the caption,
"Un amico mi disse: 'Investi su te stesso, fai un corso di inglese - ti servirà .' Be che dirti avevi veramente ragione. A friend said to me, 'Invest in yourself - do an English course because it will be useful.' I have to say you were right."
For my part, it's always nice to be someone's first English teacher. Thank you, Giorgio!

This is a nice tribute by your student, Pat! Teachers make such a difference in so many lives.
That was very nice of Giorio to share that on fb. Give yourself a pat on the back!
Giorgio is so lucky! I wish I had had a teacher like you when I was trying so desperately, in my college years, to learn English in Montreal. The French-speaking nuns didn't speak the language very well. They made the students repeat what they were hearing on LPs. My accent was terrible and everyone would laugh. I just gave up, and English was the only subject I failed at school.
After I finished my nursing training, I moved to English Canada to learn the language by immersion at work. It was so difficult but my co-workers were very nice and helped a lot. Finally, after 6-7 months, I could function adequately. But it took forever before I could read Shakespeare and write decent letters.
Someone like you would have been a Life Savior. You truly deserve much gratitude from all your students.
Hi, Pat. Yes, it was very nice of him. Thanks, Rowena. Hi, Claude and thanks for sharing your story. You must have felt awful at college. I'm so sorry. But you were very determined and I admire you for that. Well done!
That's great! I can fully understand how thrilled you are. How very nice of him to do so. It's good to feel appreciated. :)
Hi, Lee. Yes, it was very kind of him.
