AND THE WINNER IS....

There was no doubt in my mind from the moment I first heard the song, so no apologies for reposting it. I hope you like it as much as I do:

Roberto Vecchioni - Chiamami ancora amore

A true winner! I only half understood the lyrics but they seem gorgeous. I didn't watch the end of the show because I switched off when they announced that Gualazzi will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest. I'm so disappointed! The best I can say about him is that he's cute in an unconscious kind of way. It's nice to know that at least the winner of Sanremo was really good.

I must admit, that's a great song!

Ah so you were pleased he won! I am not doing my San Remo post until next weekend, not as quick off the mark as some :)

I truly thank you for this series on the Sanremo Song Festival. I fell like a mushroom who lives in the dark, but I had never heard of this even before (and here it is the 61st edition!). I enjoyed all the video clips even though I could not understand all the words. I LOVED the winning song, Chiamami Ancora Amore. I have googled the event and would like to understand more about how it came to be. I assume from your posts that it is an elimination contest..maybe similar to our "American Idol" in the US? I do appreciate how you were able to share it with all of us.

Hi, Josep. That disappointed me, too but at least Italy is entering again. Hi, Saretta. Glad you like it too. Hi, LindyLouMac. Looking forward to your post. Hi, Patricia. I am delighted that you have enjoyed these posts. Yes, it's an elimination event, with a jury voting on the songs initially but the TV viewer votes deciding the final outcome. Many of the songs we all associate with Italy had their debut at Sanremo.
