I've been having terrible trouble with youtube tonight, and would have liked to have been able to get the aria Un giorno sol on as well, but it just won't load. The words of that aria, I think, describe exactly how benevolent you feel towards other lovers when you, yourself, are in love and how painful it is when you "lose that enchantment". Librettists, I believe, receive scant praise! Anyway, you'll have to make do with Va, pensiero. I like this treatment - there is something about the juxtaposition of the classically trained voice and the rougher one of the pop star that touches me and I like Zucchero's take on the words. Va, pensiero was, by the way, a favourite of my Dad's.

I never have trouble with youtube - I just can't access it or play it.
You Tube now allows you to simply copy the html and embed- it didn't before.
It's more efficient then posting- It's what I do now.
Oh, you're a king now, James? I thought that Tut unveiling was somewhat gruesome. I thought you could access youtube now - I don't know why I thought that but I did. Probably less stressful if you can't!
Crushed, I tried to do that. At least, that's what I think I tried - but still nothing happened! How do you do it, please? And I don't know what "embed" means in this context - I thought it was something to do with journalists in war zones - so what am I embedding in what? Off to bed now!
I didn't know that Zucchero was in his fifties, I thought he was still in his thirties. A seasoned star!
I seem to have his CD Blue Sugar only but I though I had another one. However I have lots of Nek and Eros Ramazzotti.
OK, now I want to know what this embedding thing is too. So Crushed give us the details so I don't have to google it and try to figure it out for myself.
I really enjoyed this Welchcakes. Thank You for posting it.
You have just reminded me I have a couple of youtubes to download, one shows Sally and Geoff on a walk in my neighbourhood yesterday, I'll send you the link once it is up.
I can barely understand a bloody word most opera singers warble out even when it IS in English!!!!
Hi, jmb. I have got the "Zucchero & co" CD. I like Eros very much, too. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who doesn't know about this embedding! Thanks, MM. Pleased to know you like it. Hi, Ellee. It'll be nice to see that. Ciao, Gleds. I think that's a perfectly normal reaction - it IS hard to understand them because they are concentrating so much on technique. This is where Pav, with his clear diction, stands out, I think.
