SOMETHING CHEERIER...

... was this strawberry, chocolate and vanilla semifreddo [a dessert which usually has a biscuity base, stuffed with ice cream] at the Altro Posto today.

You won't believe this, Welsh, but I was only looking at a recipe for semifreddo the night before last. Already I'm forming ideas for my Christmas Day luncheon...I've a couple of friends coming for it and as it's always hot here on Christmas Day, being mid-summer, I plan a cold lunch consisting of fresh seafoods and a cold dessert of some description. Semifreddo is on my list awaiting elimination or not at a later date. :)

Sorry, slicker! Lee, I'll believe it! I look at recipes ages ahead like that, too - it's part of the pleasure of entertaining, isn't it?

I love these semi-freddo things. This one looks delicious. Very good in that terrible heat. I hope it cools off a little soon.

Oh my goodness. You do have a cruel little streak in you to post things like this when we have no chance of tasting even a sliver of it! :)

It looks much nicer than M and S low fat Choc mousse, but that's my fault for eating more than I should - do you climb up many hills to get to the cafe? You look too slim to be able to eat all fo these puddings. I am sad not to have been around more but had quite a lot of mud to get through there... I thought of you yesterday when I read that on French trains there was a sign by the open windows saying not to lean out - in french it said "forbidden"; in English and in German too; in Italin it said "peligroso".. that says a lot! xx

Buona sera, jmb. I love them too. This one was especially cooling. We had a breeze this morning but it was terribly hot by lunchtime. Nice breeze again now, though. Jamesie, get on a plane! hi, janejill. No, a couple of flights of steps. But remember I walk virtually everywhere plus 3 - 4 walks with Simi every day. I'm not slim - I'm what I call "woman-sized". I only ever eat fruit for dessert at home. The train signs are revealing.
