That was a wonderful trip down memory lane, Welsh. I remember looking at and admiring all the teenage girls on Saturday nights during walks "down town" with my Nana. The colourful, full skirts, held out by starched, rope or many layers of tulle, petticoats...their slim waists pulled in even tighter by wide elasticized belts. I was awed and "wanted to be like them when I grew up!" lol
Thank you, Lee. Oh, like you, I so wanted one of those skirts! of course, they were out of fashion by the time I was old enough to wear one! I know you know, Lord Straf-Livingstone!
I'm a sort-of retired language teacher from Cardiff, Wales, UK, now trying to make a new life in Sicily. I'm not growing vines, making olive oil or restoring a palace stone by stone!

Great blog, Welshcakes!
Good for you. I suppose I should have posted a comment there, but this will do. You are getting famous.
Ypou are very kind, JLP! Thank you, Steve. Doesn't matter where you post a comment! I think I've a way to go yet as far as fame is concerned!
