SABATO MUSICALE FOR ST DAVID'S DAY

Tomorrow is St David's Day and I am posting my Dad's favourite Welsh song.  This year, as I listen to it, I am also, of course, thinking of my little Simi. This does not detract at all from my love for Bertie-Pierrine and I know I am very lucky to be spending St David's Day with her.

HAPPY ST DAVID'S DAY, EVERYONE!

We learned to sing "Ar Hyd y Nos" in Welsh at school (and we did not even live in Wales) but in those days there was a tradition of teaching children old songs and folk tunes - I wish they still did it in schools but I don't think they do it any more. Many of those songs have stayed with me.

We also sang Dafydd y Garreg Wen, and I've just found it on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eH4hLnRdk_Q

Hi, Jenny. Such a pity this tradition is being lost. Enjoyed your youtube link.
