A CHEERY DESSERT

"Oh, do let us put some ice cream on the top", they said when I ordered fresh fruit in the Altro Posto today. I didn't argue. Strawberries have mysteriously reappeared in the shops this week.

  1. Is it still warm enough for ice cream in Sicily?
    No biting breezes yet?

  2. Hi, Crushed. We've had some very cold days indeed but today it was warm enough to eat outside. It varies but the nights are cold at this time of year.

  3. That looks well bloody cheery! Did you sugar the strawberries, too? Or was it sweet enough already?

PS You don't know a good takeaway Chinese curry sauce menu, do you?

  4. You can't argue with that sort of statement. It would be impolite.

  5. Those must be autumn strawberries. Mopsa's been enjoying a good autumn raspberry crop and there have been quite a few (very small ones) in my garden. I have a small crop of strawberries at the moment but they're all green despite being quite big. Don't know whether they'll go red if I pick them and bring them indoors.

  7. A nice Autumn dessert there. Strawberries are good but raspberries are so much better. I would miss them too if I never had them.
