The undoubted star of this morning's ceremonial proceedings for the new President was Briciola the dog, the mascot of the mounted Carabinieri. Any president who smiles at a dog on the day of his swearing-in has won me over!
Thank you, Corriere della Sera:
You can see more pictures of Briciola here.
Absolutely. never trust people who don't smile at dogs.
ReplyDeleteLittle Briciola is so cute! I am hopeful about this new President of Italy.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, Liz. yes, he's lovely, isn't he, Pat? We are all hopeful too.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see. Is it his dog?
ReplyDeleteI have no doubt that Briciola gained a great number of fans the moment they saw her on tv. I want a tshirt with her face on top!
ReplyDeleteDifferent world down there.
ReplyDeleteWhose little dog was it, I wonder.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you now have Bertie-Pierre in your life, Pat. And I bet he's so happy to be in yours. :)
Hi, Uber. No, it belongs to the carabinieri police. Hi, Rowena. Me too! Oh, I don't know, James - the Welsh guards have a goat! Hi, Lee. I presume he lives with the carabinieri. I'm glad too!
