60 INGLORIOUS YEARS - 2

Here is the great Dorothy Parker's Inventory:

Four be the things I am wiser to know:
Idleness, sorrow, a friend, and a foe.

Four be the things I'd been better without:
Love, curiosity, freckles, and doubt.

Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.

Three be the things I shall have till I die:
Laughter and hope and a sock in the eye.

And here is mine:

Four be the things I am wiser to know:
Italy, internet, doggies, bons mots.

Four be the things I’d been better without:
Alcohol, credit cards, Welshmen, my pout.

Three be the things I shall never attain:
Motherhood, sense, a numerical brain.

Three be the things I shall have till I die:
Friendship, rebellion and pies in the sky.

Happy Birthday when it comes or if it has. Finally, you have (will have) grown up - time to have some fun (and that is one exceedingly cute dog that you have).

    "She is my world"...

And I am sure you are hers. I find your adventures in Sicily rather inspiring actually, as a 54 year "old man" (according to many people around me) who has at times, recently, felt the years weigh heavily on his shoulders. Time to look forward again, I have decided. Ta!

  21. Happy Birthday! That sweet little girl, who is still in your heart, deserves that cute friend, and the best of everything for years to come. It's such a pleasure to visit you.:)

  22. Hi, Andrew. Don't let others make you feel old. You are what you are in your heart. I'm about 16 and just as daft as I was then! Yes, time to look forward.

You are very kind, Claudia. Thank you.
