If I show you the other side of the object, I'm sure you will guess that it's a very secure Sicilian money box. The only way you could get the money out would be to smash it to smithereens - exactly the sort of money box I should have!
I saw something similar in a craftfair outside St Nicholas's Market in Bristol last year. They were charging £15 for one. For an extra £5, they'd paint "wedding fund" or "holiday fund" etc. on it. They described it as Roman.
I can't believe it's a piggy bank! I am generally no good at solving your quizes, but of course am thrilled to have lucked out this time! Have you seen a pig-shaped version?
Well WL that is what I first thought of..as we have them over here too! Smaller versions of course.
ReplyDeleteYou are clever, Anne.
ReplyDeleteI'm not very good at this game. Now if it was someplace in Sicily and there was an elephant in the picture...

ReplyDeleteHi, Betty. I'll take a shot of that scene next time I'm there! Hi, Damon. £20? - Blimey!
ReplyDeleteI should, without a doubt get one of these and start to use immediatley!
ReplyDeleteMe too, Michelle!
