LA BELLA STAGIONE

There is no surer sign of spring in Sicily than beautiful bougainvillea tumbling over a white wall. Last week there was none to be seen; then suddenly this week here it is in all its precocious glory. I think this delicate pink-mauve colour is my favourite kind.

  4. Very beautiful and much nicer than the garish cerise colour. I like the more peach shade myself.

  6. oh Welshcakes, I love bougainvillea too ... there is a huge jacaranda tree here on the outskirts of town that flowers with the most pretty pale purple flowers and it has a deep purple bougainvillea climbing through it, gee it looks beautiful when they are both in flower, alas we are half a year away from spring here!

  9. Very beautiful. We are in plant slumber zone here in South Australia. A good time to give up on many of the plants that didn't make it through the intense summer heat and drought this year.

  10. Hi, CC. Yes, some of my balcony herbs have given up the ghost. Yet a geranium which I have totally neglected is out there flowering!
