MILLE ARTICOLI!

The post below was my 1,000th!

I've had some wonderful moments in this blogging life and I've had my lows as well. And sometimes I ask myself why I, or any of us, do it. After all, if you pause and think about it, it's rather a strange activity, putting yourself on the net, then opening up about your life and sometimes your deepest emotions to all who care to read. But through blogging I have made some wonderful friends, all over the world, and I have learnt so much from them. So thank you to all who have visited, read and / or commented thus far.

As if to mark the occasion, the water lorry appeared at 8.30 am today! I had rung yesterday to request the coming week's refill, and was told, "We can even bring it tomorrow if you wish, signora". My mother told me never to look a gift lorry in the mouth* [or something like that] so I didn't, reader. [*Note to my students: the meaning of this proverb is explained here.]

Now, who better to celebrate with me - and you, I hope - but the gorgeous Patrizio?

PATRIZIO BUANNE - THAT'S AMORE

  1. 1000 posts bloody hell that's even more than me...

your food features and recipes are brilliant

have you heard of Delia Smith's latest tome?

    "How to Cheat at Cooking"

it has stupid recipes I can't exactly remember but things like

    "Shepherd's pie with carrots"

buy a frozen Marks and Spencer's shepherd's pie; put in the microwave

buy Marks and Spencer (she seems to love that shop) ready chopped carrots

    microwave these

    put together

    hey presto-taDAA!

and it's practically that bad... Vanessa was reprimanding her no end on her daily show this morning...

I mean Morrisons sell "ready mixed vegetable fried rice" (how pathetic can you get..?) and apparently Marx and Sparxx sell ready fried onions (honestly!!)

    where does this end~??

but writing a BOOK of "recipes" we can all do by common sense.... come ON, Delia... come ON!!!

  2. It is funny isn't it?
I'm shocked myself, sometimes the degree in which I've posed stuff I don't even like to talk about. It has had its horrors, true, but still we persist.

    Food for thought, eh?

  5. Congratulations Welshcakes, that is indeed a milestone to celebrate. All the stars seem to come together for you as well.

Why do we do this blogging thing? How can we say things here that we would not say in real life? But the returns are obviously there for we continue and as you say, the people you meet are worth it all.

  6. Blimey, Gleds ... more than you?!! Read something about the latest "blessed Delia" tome - couldn't believe she had done that! Agree with you.
Food for thought, indeed, Crushed. I wonder what future historians will make of it all?
