This is the area of Modica Bassa where Simi and I lived for the first five weeks after we arrived here in 2005. I was down there this morning and as it was a lovely day, took these pictures, which I thought you'd like to see.
Click here to see inside the tiny house [kindly lent to us by dear friends] where we were.
They are built into the side of the hill?
ReplyDeleteYour first home looked sweet.
Hi, Liz. Yes, sort of carved into the rock. I haven't identified the exact house for home security reasons for my friends.
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing those pics, Welsh...such an interesting area. I can understand your love of where you're living.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures WL. Love the little house!!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos, fabulously exotic atmosphere, great post.
ReplyDeleteLee, Ann, James, thank you. I felt quite nostalgic going down there on Saturday - I often go to Modica Bassa but not that part of it- as it was a strange time; exciting and scary as Shirl has commented.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place. And boy, the sky looks like the sky here right now: ultra blue!
ReplyDeleteHi, Bonnie. Yes, we had a lovely sky that day.
