PERFUMERY CAKE

And now onward to serious stuff: A friend of mine who is a beautician is learning English. She has been very kind to me lately so I thought I'd try to combine references to her job and her studies in yet another tipsy cake.  The thing that, admittedly, looks more like a candle is meant to be a lipstick and I used glacĂ© cherries and chocolate sprinkles. [You can't get ready-rolled fondant icing here and it's too hot to make some!] The chocolate letters you can buy here are very handy  and you do get letters like k and w, which are not in the Italian alphabet, in the pack but only one or two of each. Thus it was that I didn't have a w left in my packet and if the one in the word "shadow" looks a little odd, that's because it's a euro sign!

  2. That looks delicious...I may have to try a tipsy cake instead of rum cupcakes for a party coming up!

On the subject of sweets, we had some cioccolato modicana yesterday and it was wonderful. We must get up to Modica soon to look around and shop for chocolate!

  3. I am just wondering if including rosewater would have given it a "Perfume" to go with the idea ^_^ or if there was booze in it maybe there would be a clash, depending on what was used?

  7. Thanks, Sally. Hello, Hawkins Family. Glad you liked the Modican chocolate! Hi, Moggsy. Well, there was already a fair bit of maraschino in it but rosewater is a good idea. Hi, WW. I've decided a tipsy euro is the best sort to have! Hi, James. Whenj you arrive at Pozzallo in your boat you shall have some. Thank you, Claude.
