Hi, Crushed. These prickly pear plants are absolutely everywhere. They grow where a leaf from another falls. Other cacti are common, too. Glad you like it, janejill and Sally - it is rather jolly, isn't it? Lee, they must be lurking behind the plant! Hi, Steve. Yes, I saw them in the US too and brought back the pickled ones with me to cook Mexican dishes. Whenever my Nevada friend used to come over, I'd make her bring me a jar!
I presume this is a cactus of sorts.
ReplyDeleteAre cacti common in Sicily?
Oh it just looks so jolly and silly and has really made me smile- a great shot Welshcakes x
ReplyDeleteA great looking Cactus....saw a few of these while in Corsica
ReplyDeleteI can't help but think of Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef..."The Good, The Bad And The Ugly" when I see that pic!
ReplyDeleteAnd where are Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone when you want them? ;)
I've seen cactus that look similar, in California.
